The pictures tell the story Two of the planes were from groups of guys from the Metroliners, Charlotte NC The red plane was first done and first to take off ground and first to complete 10 laps,and it came in last.I think some one got the score cards mixed up.It was great fun at the end of a long day.

If you noticed, most of the judges were kids.
So the teams that had kids to fly their entry placed first, second and third.

Our team Wobbly Wheel completed their model in second (23 min.). We even had Buzz Lightyear as the pilot glued on the top of the wing. Each team had to wait their turn to fly. Our model flew fine with Bad Andy doing the piloting skills. Windy Urtnowski was designated to do the second flight for us. We came in fifth place. Windy even signed our model. We had a blast. We did not care where we placed. It was supposed to be a fun event. Team Wobbly Wheel consisted of Willis Swindell, Bill Sequira, Paul Sequira and John Tate. Jenna Mills painted our model (see the second picture in your post).

Holy Cow! I LOVE IT! Those are TERRIBLE! I'll bet it was a real blast, and enjoyable, too. It is about time somebody started thinking about bringing some fun back into the sport, with events that are both enjoyable to watch, and a bit creative. CA rules! I can just see some kid (large or small) with a handful of splinters, and a big grin, saying "It FLEW!" Of course, there would be the small group who would gather, arguing whether a 6x2.793 prop would help performance, and muttering: "Wait till next year!" Gimme a break!
