Glue

In my younger days I used epoxy and Ambroid glues to build my models.

What is the deal on CA glues, Titebond, white glue.

Do these work better than the old glues?

I still use the same old glues from the past.
CA glues work very well However,for health resons I have had to cut back on CA glues. I tack ONLY with CA. My last plane I'm useing CA glue that is "Orderless". More$$$$ but works Just fine.
I have gone to "SUPER PHATIC" from Deluex Materials. Drying time is 20 mins good capilary action, Fule proof, Dope will stick to it, and is sandable. I also use a lot of "Sigment", "Testors Wood Glue" and "Sig Super Weld". CA gules are wounderful, FAST,Great for field repairs, And sticking your fingers to your project. Wood is still the same and I thing Glues are just a little safer in this day and age. Slow curring glues for your Engine Mounts and faster glues for Tacking and Setting.

If you can get the archive function to work, there is a bunch of adhesive stuff back in here. About a year ago, I was in the same place you are today, and received invaluable advice from all the smart guys who hang out here. Any problems getting the old info, e-mail Leonard, as he is always helpful.

My experience with CA is that never put it anywhere you might want to sand. Other than that it is wonderful.
