Genesis Plans

Does anyone out there have any good information on Bob Hunt's Genesis series. Engine sizes, foam wing versions, kits, magazine articles, etc. Where can I get plans today? Thanks!

The plans should be available from Flying Models.

Have you thought of sending an email to Bob at the address listed in Model aviation? I'd think he would be the best source of information about the plane.

Good suggestion! Ended up in a great discussion with Bob....including some information on his latest Genesis. Wishing him great luck at the Nats!

Hi Ray,
Flying Models has the plans for the original 35 size Genesis. I built my first PAMPA ship based on the 35 size Genesis. As drawn, the small Genesis has a VERY thin fuselage.
IIRC, FM also has plans for two larger size Genesis including the World Championship version.
I have not seen plans for his "new" Genesis, but you could check with Bob about all of them.

Flying Models has plans for both the 35 and 46 Genesis. If you contact Bob Hunt he will refer you to Flying Models, been there done that.

There was a foam wing-ed kit of the Genesis....I have seen several at swap meets.....Bob mentioned that it was one of the first controline foam kits on the market.

Thanks, Bob! Who kitted the Genesis 46 and what's the kit like....quality wise?

I have the 46 Genesis kit. I think it was kitted by M&P (Mathis and Peadon) in Texas. I'll check in the morning. It looks like a very good kit, wood and all and foam wings. This I will build, as it is not a true collectors kit. In 1973 I built the Genesis in FM and actually finished it in 1999. Lots of hauling it around in several moves. Made several mistakes and a learned a lot about making my own foam wings. My first model with a slider leadout and weight box. I used an OS .35III, but it should have had a .40 in it. Lots of other minor screw ups like no paper on the balsa, paint went through the wood into the foam=no foam, wing skin buckled, painted it black without a contrasting color and it would dissappear in the background with all the dark green trees we flew next to. I dissassembled it and looked for things I did right. Last count, 5. Ha.
If you need a magazine to go fwith the FM plans, holler, as I have an extra.

Good site - didn't know Bob Hunt revived the Genesis!

Hi again Ray. The Genesis -1, Flying Models February 1974, plan # CF-322. The M&P kit is called the Genesis 40, but is set up for a .46. The Genesis 46 is also in FM,August 1977, plan # CF-447. Go to 1-800-474-6995, toll free. FM also has a site for their plans;www.flying-models.com. They also have the instructions or the magaizine with the article available. I got mine in five days.
