Mike,

Many thanks to all the SIG folks and especially CD Mike Pratt, for another great event! Thanks also to Hazel and Maxey for the use of their airstrip. Compliments to the 'Apple Basket' for a very tasty Saturday evening meal at the field.

We had the best contest weather I've seen anywhere in at least 3 years. This resulted in some excellent stunt flights with very close scoring.

I'll post some photos in the next few days. I know Crist Rigotti also took pics, so he'll probably also post.

But you didn't have flying porta-potties like we had at the Dallas Aero-Heat this year...

Normally we have the Saturday night Thunderstorm dance for those of us that camp out at Hazel and Maxies airport, but this year we were mercifully spared, and the Port-a-Potties stayed put!

Terrence, Read the thread on the Dallas contest. It is fully explained there.
Down right scary!! UFOs Attacking cars and such. I hear that the UFO did something to the film in cameras so there were no pictures of it as it flew by and bit the cars!!! Someone DID get a picture as it tried to hide amongst the porta-potties at the south end of the parking lot.

Bigiron (had rather have been at Sig.)

Mike G., Mike P. and the entire Sig Family,

Had an outstanding time again this year. Almost did not make it due to not having a partner for the ride, but Jay Williams came through for me. We are both suffering from hurt facial muscles from grinning ear to ear the entire time we were there.

An excellent job by the entire staff from Sig Manufacturing running the hobby shop, organizing the pits and running the show. The Apple Basket had an excellent meal on Saturday night that was ready directly after the last P-40 flight (20+ entrants-this one is a keeper).

A big thanks from me to everyone that flew Advanced and the guys organizing the pits for getting everyone through all the flights (again 20+ contestants) with only two pauses during the whole thing while I went and flew.

Already looking forward to next year.

Yeah John you had a good time because you place in all 3 events you entered. Way to go winning 1st in Classic!
I too had a great time. I decided at the last minute to john John Paris and surprise Mike Schmitt whom I met at Brodaks last week.
I didn't do too bad considering that I decided to move out of Beginners last week. Looking forward to next year and doing better.

Isn't that inverted at about 3 feet? Wish I could've been there.

Yes, thanks Mike, it was a great contest.

I am really looking forward to the video clip of Bill Calkin's Nobler Arf (abbreviated) flight. I confess that I held my breath a bit during the bottom of my first Outside Square!

The SIG contest was great. SIG really knows how to host a contest. Great pilot giveaways, a fabulous banquet....FREE to entrants, great weather, great competition, and a friendliness that can't be beat. This was the 22nd annual contest. Wow, 22 years now. Mike Pratt CD this contest and did a great job. If you missed this one, you missed a great one!
I'm going to post a bunch of pictures over several posts. Stay tuned.
