Palmer Classic pics???

Hi Guys,

Had a BLAST at Whittier Narrows last Saturday! It was my first contest and I didn't stop grinning all day. The Knights are a great bunch of guys and it was really great to meet everyone!

Oh yeah, and I managed to take first place in beginner! WOO HOO!!

I couldn't believe it! Thanks to Dave Sabon, Bob Brooks, Charles, Martin and all of the other guys down here in San Diego for the great coaching and tips!!

The only downside was that the batteries in my digital camera bought the farm early in the morning and I only got three or four pics. If anyone has pics, or knows someone who does, I would be willing to pay the costs and shipping for a CD.

BTW- Anyone have results from Sunday? I wasn't able to be there both days.

1cc is 1/2A died and went to heaven. Basically, any small model powered by a 1cc (.061) engine or less. We fly that as an event with 1st through 3rd place placks.

Then, there is the separate Leprechaun trophy for the highest placing plane that is an actual or replica OT or Classic design.

Pete took first with a (modern) Me-109, John took 2nd with a Baby Clown. Since John was the highest placing OT/Classic design, he got the Leprechaun trophy....again!

1 cc is one cubic centimeter, or approximately 0.06 cu.in. It's a substitute for 1/2 A. Pete flew a Stork Messerschmidt in 1 cc. He had a Brodak Brickhaus Legacy for expert.

Whittier Narrows is where I started. Tom Warden and Bill Noyes were my idols. Sorry to hear the Tom Passed. Those were fond memories of mine.Do they still have the car cage there? I used to love watching the thimble drone cars run.
Do the Barnstormers still exist? I was one in the late sixties.

Yes they do, and speeds get close to 200mph! Very impressive, you literally can not see the car as it runs.
