Nice week of flying....

We left the rain behind in the mid-south and came up north this past Sunday to where the cheeze heads live.
It is only Wednesday and we have had three great days of flying. Tomorrow we get back on the road and will not have the chance to fly again until next week. (and besides we are out of fuel and no place close to get any.)
When my son posted about his first loop, we got a call from a local flyer, Joe Connelly. Turn out he was a few blocks away. He came out this afternoon with his brand new Nobler and a foam wing trainer. He did a nice job on the Nobler. Wish I would have taken a picture of it. It was a little to windy and he did not want to try and trim it with the high winds. I don't blame him. So we took the other planes and put up a number of flights. Joe did something that was a real heart pounder. He got right at the top of a loop and the engine quit! No problem, he pulled it around and out and did a nice landing.

Ryan is really getting good at loops, pulled a few of them out close to the ground, and the last one was a little close. But that is his story and I will let him tell you about it.

We got a few photos but will have to wait to post them next week. No way to down load them to the computer.

Thanks for the vacation report and the update on flying conditions in the Land 'O Lakes! Man, I wish I wasn't driving this desk all week. Loved the emails from ole Propbuster!!! Can't believe you guys get to fly CL at custom fields with your own name on 'em. What a vacation!

PS-Mebbe I can get a filler coat on the Buster wing tonight. Gonna sneak out when the boss isn't watching....

Well last night as the sun was setting the wind died down and Ryan and I grabed the little Stunt Chimp with now a .061 Norvel on it for a few sun set flights. I got my first loop in 27+ years! What a nice feeling that was.
What a way to end the day.

On the road again.

I really wanted to get down to Kenosha to hook up with you and the boys this week. Sounds like you had a wonderful week. Great weather, no 8-5 work, the kids love to fly with dad, I’m jealous.

Congratulations on the first loop in 27+ years. This is why I liked reading the posts from both you and your son. The technical expertise of many of the guys posting on this forum is amazing. Almost intimidating for someone like me who just likes to get out and do some tricks; some loops here some lazy eight’s there. That’s my kind of flying. Hearing about your adventures is a lot of fun for me; somewhat inspiring. Maybe I’ll get up enough courage to post some of my progress some day.

Let us know when you’ll be up this way again and keep on posting when you get home.
