powermaster fuel

Recently i ran out of my regular fuel.While at the local hobby shop i was told they quit handeling sig fuel.They replaced sig with powermaster fuel.Most all of my engines are the old mccoy rh ,g/h torps,and old os max.What they had in stock was powermaster 10% nitro with 29%all castor.Any one have experience with this fuel. I tryd to do a search and couldn't find any post.Thanks for any opinions. Tom

Yeah, That 29% works good in all my Foxes. Wouldn't use anything else.

Man, some people have ALL the luck! What you have there is the PERFECT fuel for those old engines - they'll LOVE it! The best I can get at my LHS is Sig 5% nitro 25% all-castor, which is better than nothing, but for my L&J Fox 35 I have bought fuel that is 25% nitro, 20% total oil (75% synth, 25% castor), and then mixed it with methanol and castor oil in proportions to make up a fuel that is 9% castor and 29% total oil (81% castor/19% synth), which means in the TOTAL volume, the castor is 24% and the synth is 6%. Quite a lot of expense and mess to go through... sure wish I could just go down to the local shop and get 10%/29% fuel (and Powermaster, in particular)...

Everyone seems to have their personal preferences but our LHS in OKC carries Powermaster fuels and it answers all my needs:

1) 5/29 for fox 35's
2) Mix 5/29 & 10/22 equal parts (25% oil) as alternate choice for Fox 35's that are well broken-in or for ABC Foxes. (Also what I've been using for B-40 break-in)
3) 5/22 or 10/22 for OS engines....I prefer 5/22 when it's available.

Those older engines should be happy, happy on 29% oil or possibly 25%.

HMMM. My local hs, RC Hobbies (RC for Rocket City and R/C) told me that Powermaster no longer made 10% nitro 28% castor fuel. Why do I get the feeling they lied or forgot to order the 4 gallons I asked them to order? I always pick up anything I order through them, so it's not like I'm a dud customer and I drop at least $200.00 every other month in there. Maybe I should go direct to Powermaster. RC Hobbies does carry SIG fuel though.

What we get is:
5/29 and 10/22. 5/22 seems less available.....but seems available. Never heard of the 10/28 although it sounds wonderful for Fox 35's!

The GMA stands for George M. Aldrich, and it was his specified brand for the engines you are running. You couldn't do better than this for your old plain bearing, iron piston engines!

Powermaster is supposed to make 15 x 29 and 15 x 22 GMA mixes, but I have never been able to get the LHS to get any. They get Powermaster from a Distributor, and that's the problem. We consider ourselves lucky to get the other Powermaster GMA mixes...good stuff. Steve

I called PowerMaster a couple of months ago. The 15/29 and 15/22 are no longer offered. Rats!
