copying old posts

Leonard, or anybody who can help,

I'd like to copy some posts I made last October but don't seem to be able to get at them. I wanted to print out complete copies including the photos of Topics: 5657,6532,6516,and 6421.

How can I do this?

While the following doesn't exactly answer your question, below are the URLs for each of the four topics.

The way I got the foregoing was to search the Archives until I got to October 2003. It then got easier because all I did was look for Al Rabe in the Author Column. I was not able to find the 5657 topic this way (because it had an August date), but the solution to this problem was simple: I just changed the topic number in one of the three previously found URLs to 5657.

BTW, I too hope that Leonard or someone chimes in because I have no luck using the Forum's Search function.

After submitting the foregoing I thought of the following :
For those who have subscribed to the topic or topics, click on "User Menu" on the first page of the "Stuka Stunt Main Forum" . On the new page that opens click on "Topic Subcription". The page that then opens will show a list of all the topics to which you are subscribed.

The problem may have been that you were not looking through the archives when doing your search. After a message thread passes a certain amount of time on the board and is no longer active, it gets archived. The message is still instact - along with the links to any attached photographs. The format, however, is more space efficient and it can not be edited to, deleted, or ammended through the board software.

Can you give me specifics as to what you are looking for? The message search seems to be working well here.

I've had some luck using Mozilla to "save as complete web page" on such posts. It creates a directory with all the referenced GIFs, JPGs, etc files in it.. Quite handy.

Things may be improved now, I wouldn't know, but in the past, I have been unable to get either IE or Netscape to do this properly. But I do it all the time with Mozilla.

Another bonus to using Mozilla is that it doesn't suffer the security holes that the latest viruses are currently exploiting. (Be sure to get an update from Microsoft on IE, BTW!)
