Adjustable over/under leadouts

This came up on the Skyscraper thread on Isky's board about adjustable over/under leadouts. I looked up the article in Stunt News, so I am repeating it here if anyone else is interested.

The article is in the May/June 1996 Stunt News under the Building section. It is a clarification of a previous article about over/under leadouts that was apparently in a previous Flying Models article about the Electra. Bill Netzband does some extra explaining about how to make and install them. There is an accompanying diagram drawn by Pat Johnston. From the looks of the diagram they would look a littly tacky if you had a very narrow tip on the wing, but on a relatively thick rounded tip would not look strange.

Jim, I feel a little uneasy, but need to correct your information. I wrote the article for FM on Dick Williams Electra. I mentioned the over-under adjustable leadouts in that article. I got so many inquiries about them that I later submitted the short article and drawing to SN so potential builders could see how they went together.

Bart Klapinski was the one who showed them to me. Wild Bill might have been the originator, but as far as I know, it was Bart who is the inventor unless I'm shown otherwise, and I wouldn't be surprized if Bart got the idea from someone else.

The idea is rather sinple, and only offers limited adjustablility, but if placed close to where they should be, will work for that extra fine tuning. They can be modified to be used in a rather thin wing, with a little thought.
