Rob blew the other two kids, who were both pretty darn good, out of the water - not even close. Paul was 8th and Ted was 10th.

Great news!!!

Billy has worked hard to be crowned again.

What happened to Ted?... Previous reports had him with a real barnburner flight yesterday. Did having to go to a backup airplane hurt Paul?

Congrats to everyone .. With Rob, our future is also secure!

Ted had a 3004 in the first round, Paul had a 2994, for either of them to win they would have had to flown flights of @ 3125 and 3136 respectively and the average for Billy's two flights was 3064.75 .

Congrats to the entire team! Wonder how many will be at the Nats?

Bill Werwage deserves every point he got and I am delighted to see his recognition as World Champion. His flying was typically elegant!

I also watched the second last-round flights by Ted and Paul from behind the Judges and, in my very humble opinion, they were each scored way too low. Paul's second flight was absolutely spectacular. His corners were crisp (oh-oh!) and clean, his bottoms were uniform and the best of all I saw that round, and shapes were great. Intersections, though not perfect, were among the best I saw that round. I can only guess that he was penalized for the sharp corners and fast flight. Those who watched that flight from this perspective reacted very positively to what they saw. IMHO, compared to what I saw from others, Paul Walker was scored about 100 points low on that flight. It was a tour de force. Ted flew very well too.

I am sorry to sound negative, but I paid special attention to flights of the Chinese, French, and U.S. teams to see whether what I had heard was true. I felt that the second Chinese flyer outflew his higher placed team mate. While his sizes were also large and corners round, he flew extremely well. I did not see the famous uniform bottoms from the former champion, whose square tops varied by several feet, figures overlapped, and loops were not round. I'd be much happier, if I'd been able to verify the quality I'd heard about. Sorry.

Bruce was flying very good.
He had his pen fall out of his pocket on his last flight of qualifying, the pen went into the wing and got stuck

Then on his second finals flight, he overan by about 3 seconds, the official blew the whistle while he was in his roll out on landing, it was really to bad.

Him and his wife were very nice and he is a good flyer for sure!

I would like to offer my most sincere congratulations to Billy Werwage for an outstanding performance at the 2004 FAI Control Line World Championships. After personally witnessing his 3 rounds of Precision Aerobatics, one cannot question his right to be a 3 time World Champion, and,, could you not believe that he could possibly repeat this feat and be the only Four Time World Champ??
Get'em Bill!!!

As great as Billys efforts were, It should not over shadow the fact that the USA "Team" made an outstanding showing to the entire world community of Control Line. The efforts of Ted, Paul, and Rob certainly leave no doubt that Control Line flying is alive and in good hands here in the USA.

I am so glad I had the opportuniy to see these Gentlemen represent our country in such a fine manner..

Before the competition, there were several pilots who mentioned to me that "Even though Werwage is the best in the world, he is flying a piped ship and the international judges will never give a piped ship a great score." I won't embarass the folks who mentioned that to me, but I guess Bill proved them wrong.

Congratulations to everyone on our team who worked so hard for so long.
