I was impressed!

I was really impressed with the overall quality of the flyers here in general and felt that the rumors of the U.S. Team being head and shoulders above the rest of the World were exaggurated by a bunch!

It sounds as though you are missing Rich's point.

I too was impressed by all of the fliers. They are wayyyyyy better, and fly much more correct patterns than have been reported by returning team members (at least in my opinion and just about everyone I spoke too--minus two exceptions).

Bill had to stick two INCREDIBLE patterns to win. Which he did.

Clutch flying.

I was impressed, too. I saw one of Han's last flights, and it was good-- much better than those I saw before. The French team had very innovative stuff. I'll post some pictures when I get a high-speed connection. Anybody here have one?

Combat was particularly awesome. There was some really, really good flying, much of it by our team members. Mike Willcox and Leonardo Silva had a terrific match. Their planes were within a couple of feet of each other for four minutes. I was especially proud of the combat guys when they sent a flyaway all the way to the stunt circle.

I got to meet a lot of the SSW regulars here. I ran into the Littles at the hobby shop. Fred Krueger is staying here at the Signature. I got to practice with Igor (He ain't all theory; he flies really well). I met PJ, who has a plane with balance tabs on the flaps and vortex generators on the wing-- the full aero package. Today I flew with Crist while Peabody was causing international incidents in Intermediate in the next circle. Dale Gleason came over tonight while I was shining up my airplane.

Today I had lunch at the 12th Street Cafe with Larry and Ginger Scarinzi and Riley Wooten. It's quite a contest.

Yes .. full aero package, but the question needs to be asked.. did it help? im not so convinced.
