I could get only the wing construction photos to open. Here on Tim's pages you can see the finished Freebird photo (from Steve Helmick) enlarged:

Note, however, that the Freebird has been revised since this particular design and now appears in Eiflander's plans with a bubble canopy and thus less aft fuselage area.

Bob,

Tony Eiffelaender manufactures PAW diesels. He probably still uses one of his 35BB diesels, sidewinder, as in Freebird 4. Diesels, at least PAWs, run much better as sidewinders, btw.

I have the Aeromodeller issues with Freebird 3 "full" construction article, and with Freebird 4 modification sketches for sidewinder mount. And I know of a few nearby copy machines if anyone is really stressed to see the stuff.

The 'Bird on Tim McT's site looks like an inverted engine piece, and is probably not Tony E's. One of the pix on the CLAPA link above is of Tony E. with his sidewinder Freebird.

Last I knew Tony was using a PAW 40.

It's not my Freebird, I lifted the pic off the CLAPA site, I think. But I do have the plans for it, and the PAW .40 TBR, NIB, both available, together or seperate. It's a big model, and would be nice for a glow stunt .60, mounted inverted. As I recall, this one has a Stalker in it. There are several sizes, plans available from PAW. Steve

Hi Ron, here are some pics of my Freebird.
This is the model I used to learn the pattern with.
It flies quite well but I found I had to set the C/G fairly well forward as the tail moment is very short.
Power is OS35FP & it weighs 47oz.
