Paul Walker's F-51 photos

Here are some photos of Paul's Mustang. For some reason I seem to be lacking photos of typical stunt ships. The airplane sounded and flew great. There were a lot of 4 stroke airplanes at the World. They all seemed to have plenty of power and, to my ears, made a much more pleasant sound. In any case, that Saito hauled Paul's airplane with authority.

now if he'd just put the wing towards the bottom of the fuselage and added some dihedral! You proved it Al. Scale looking planes can fly great.

Why do you call them F-51s when everyone else calls them P-51s?

Near the end of WWII the designation of these airplanes and the class, in general, was changed from Pursuit to Fighter. "P" to "F".

I always call Paul's Mustang a "PW-51". Steve

Not until 1947 were the designations offically changed by the then new Air Force. Had to be confusing when they used P for fighters (pursuit) and F for photo.
