Speaking of fuel tanks and such...

How long does it take to fly the OTS pattern? How much engine run time should I allow for to determine tank size, which will determine how large to make the tank compartment in the fuselage...

I may have to move a bulkhead a little bit to get in a 4oz. tank

With 40-size engines, I use a 3-oz tank for OTS and a 4 oz tank for modern stunt. However, it is easier put less fuel in a too large tank than more fuel in a too small tank.

I normally use 3.5 oz tanks in my OTS ships. However, I only put in 3 oz. of fuel. That gives me an average of about 5 min 30 sec of run time. That run time gives me about one minute to spare after I finish the pattern.

What engines are you using in old time stunt which will give enough time on 3 1/2 ounces of fuel?...........T.Durrill

On my All American Sr and with a Fox stunt 35 or the CS 35, 2 1/2 ounce tank will get me through the OT pattern with no problem. 3 oz will not get you an over run, but you will have a considerable amount of flying around between the last maneuver and the landing.
