My first Nat's

We Drove down Thursday To Muncie, IN. We went to the Field that day to check it out, but everyone was just leaving. The next day we went down the road and where just amazed at all the planes in the air. Looking around I saw Combat, speed, stunt, Rat races, and carrier. First, we went to the stunt and meet up with Mr. Dale Gleason. I was egging to go to the combat tent. It was so fast I could hardly keep up. We later went to the carrier. Those planes had a lot of hardware and could fly really slow. After that we saw speed, what I thought was neat was the jet planes that would fly like a bullet.

The next day we where at the stunt and my brother had been talking the entire trip that he wanted to meet Ted Fancher and get him to sign our stunt news magazine, he got his wish. We later went to the AmA museum that was really cool. Also I have some pic's to.

Nice pics, thanks! So, how many of those events are you going to be flying in next year? Sounds crazy, but you'd have more fun than you can imagine just getting out there on the handle at an event like that. With limited stunt skills, there are racing and carrier events that you can easily have some fun with. Don't know a thing about speed, have never even seen a speed event, I guess you're one up on me there!

Build a Mouse I plane. Just takes a little bit of balsa. (A whole bunch of 'em would fit in a small box.) You can fly it in racing and in Profile Proto Speed. All with a Cox reed valve engine.... Twice as much fun on lowbucks!

PS--Hope you had lots of fun at the NATS!

Get a few Gotcha kits, or Allenplanes, and fly Speed Limit Combat! It's an unofficial event, so you won't need to pay the Nats entry fee, which can be quite steep.

It's great to see your enthusiasm and hear of your experience as you get futher into the sport. Some of us old-timers have never been to a Nats.
