Anyone have a theory why Remi's prop has this tip configuration? Did anyone ask him about it?

But, in truth, I expect he did it because he could!
Supercool does fun props too, but probably for different reasons.

Supercool's was to lower the effective prop tip speed. The same idea as swept wings on a Sabre.
Was Beringer's prop wood?
Beringer's prop was laminated wood. His father's were laminated wood also, but straight at the tip.
I have one picture of Remi's plane with a straight tipped prop. So he was experimenting with props during the WC.

Now you have BOM, BOT (Builder of the Tank), and ta daaa, BOP, Builder of the Prop! (Of course I left out the "manly" BOE (Builder of the Engine).

I remember a prop with similar tip shape advertized in maybe the 80's. I intended to get some but never did.

I remember the prop you were talking about. Made of glass or carbon by a fellow in Colorado. If I recall correctly, it had Hoerner tips. Beringer's prop looks like an extreme rake tip. I think the guy was a scam artist, as he never sent me the props I ordered. I've got a picture of it somewhere. I'll scan it and post it later.

Maybe, but some props were made and distributed. I had one, but never really used it for anything. Much more likely it was simply overestimating his capability to produce them, than any malice.

It is the "Builder Of the Model" rule that, for certain contests, means you must be the builder of the model in order to enter it or qualify for appearance points. Since this has been beaten to death by some, and is a part of our rules, I have just "suggested" that we do not discuss it's merits any further.
