Nats Results

Has anyone noticed the lack of 10th Place in the unofficial list?

There are only 19 final scores, so it appears the list numbers are not out of sequence, just one missing.

Just so it gets posted here, I will mention what you have already discovered.

Kaz Minato was inadvertently left off the list as number 10.

Frank McMillan was dropped down 2 places because of an incorrect, and impossible, score of 1073.92 instead of 1079.67. Frank was 9th.

Masura Hiki was 10th with 1077.33.

Kaz placed 11th with 1077.00.

These results. of the 6 to 20 places, are taken from Igor Burger's photograph of the score board. Typos should have been found before publication.

One may notice that 16th place is missing in the Advanced scores. That's where I placed, but the computer had me flying in Open in error. This was noted by Don Hutchinson and brought to the attention of Warren and Shareen who took care of the problem. It may take AMA some time to catch up on the glitches and post them correctly. My personal thanks to Warren, Shareen, Brenda Schuette, Bill Lee, Dave Brown and all the other folks who made this World Champs/Nats come about. Surely my cup ranneth over! Hi Guys,

I just got home Tuesday evening and went on line yesterday to see what AMA had posted. There are, in fact, errors in the reporting. I will attempt to get things straightened out with AMA but the postings on the board at the NATS flying site is correct. Except, of course, for Dale Gleason and Kaz Minato. Dale was put into the OPEN catagory and I wasn't informed of the change and Kaz was put in the ADVANCED catagory which I did change but AMA didn't catch. Dave Ek was another flyer who was "mislabeled" and will need to be put into the ADVANCED category from the OPEN category.

Hopefully by this week-end I will be able to sort through the mistakes and send another copy to AMA. By the way, James R. Smith who has a "DNF" after his name on the AMA listing is "Randy" Smith and he did fly and place. That will need to be changed as well on the AMA listings. Instead of clarifying the information I passed on to AMA the data imput person made some arbitrary decisions that were incorrect.

I am hoping to get it all straightened out soon.
