Bill Rich

I wanted to take a minute to thank eyeryone who has expressed concern about my health and wished me a speedy recovery.

This has been quite a year for me, it started with breaaking my ankle and leg in March, and culminated with my Cardiac By-Pass on July 9th.

I had actually planned to attend this years NATS , I volunteered to judge, I've always wanted to judge but couldn't bring myself to give up a year of NATS competition. The week I was to leave for Muncie I noticed a shortness of breath and a tightness in my chest, I wanted to ignore this but could not. Stress test revealed some blockage and Cardiac Cathertization revealed the need for the double By-Pass.

I can't help but think of all the Stunt Newws Cloumns that Dave Cook wrote about the merits of getting in shape for the flying session. I remember one that was specifically directed to the "Belly Brothers"!

My recovery is going very well and I expect to be flying by September, everyone I've talked to says I will feel great" I have managed to drop over 40 lbs since breaking my ankle/leg, not sure what this will do for the "ballast" in the Ovheread but I know it was necessary.

Again, thanks for your concern, I look forward to seeing everyone at next years NATS.

Bill,
Glad to hear that you are doing well and are on the mend. You will not miss the 40 lbs either!

I took of the weight after Rene Berger sent me a picture of myself, and hopefully it will stay off. I just reminded myself that every 16 lbs was a bowling ball that I was carrying.

We all hope to see you competing again soon.
