Western Canada Stunt Championships

Just wondering how many of the PNW and Canadian fliers are going to make the trip to Vancouver this coming weekend? Keith and I will be out at the field on Friday for any early arrivals as a kinda unofficial welcoming party. I plan on spending pretty much all day there. I know some of the Alberta guys will probably show up but who's coming for sure? Randy, don't tell me you couldn't find the birth certificate.

Just talked to Chris Cox and he's planning on being out at the field all day Friday too. Good time to get some practice in. Both circles will be available. The larger #1 circle has been worked on this spring and been smoothed and seal coated.

I will be there, but can't leave until Friday morning so won't arrive until that evening. Probably too late to fly on Friday.

Will Reeb is planning on coming too.

Can't make it. I got to many things going on to get away. All are keeping the family on edge.

Nope, couldn't find it...yet. But I won't be there anyway. My wife was injured and I'll be taking care of her. Sigh... She'll be OK, but it's been a bit traumatic the last few days.

You guys have a great time and I'll hopefully see some of you at the Raider Roundup.

Pretty much. Forgot her riding helmet at home, but rode anyway. She was pitched off when the thing shied at a jump. Head first into the steel tube arena railing. Got thumped pretty well. Pretty serious concussion and a couple of partially torn muscles in her back and hip. She'll be OK, but will be a few weeks healing up. And she's forbidden to ride for 4 weeks (by the doctor) and never again without her d#%$ helmet. Sheesh! Scared the stuffing out of me.

I'm taking her out of town for a couple of weeks to recuperate.

While shes down go and get that IMPACT and RO-65 combo. She won't know......LOL.......sorry had to do it.

I fell off of a horse once... Dang quarter got stuck:+

Many moons ago I used to spend quite a bit of time in the saddle. Had this one filly I used to ride all the time that would suddenly come to a stop from a full gallop and I ended up going over her head on numerous occasions. I used to come up cursing to high heaven and she'd just give me this strange look. She was blind in one eye and guess that had something to do with it. I always got the feeling that she really felt sorry for it because I could tell she really liked me alot. Those of you that know horses know what I mean.

This is a young Russian Arab that is only partially trained. She just got scared. I was just mad at my wife because she wasn't wearing her helmet or her padded training shirt. If she had, she would have been in much better shape.

Thanks Al for your consideration on being at the field on Friday. I plan to be there in the PM to wring out a new profile Oriental. I will need some assistance in that regard since my wife is not really interested in this stuff.

Also can you recommend a motel nearby to stay over?

We are planning to stay in Canada for about 10 days and will also end up in Edmondton as well.

There are numerous motels within 5 to 10 minutes. There is one (Delta Town and Country Inn) just about 1 mile South of the flying field. It is at the juncture of Hwy 99, the continuation of I-5 once you get across the border and Hwy 17. It's just a quick trip through the tunnel and the flying field is on the other side.

I wish I could be there this year with all of you but money and time are at a premium. I love Canada and this contest and highly recomend it as a mini-vacation.....my wife still loves you Dan....plus she has lost 75 lbs and is looking good. I promised to help with the Bladder Grabber Combat meet long before the VGMC contest made it onto the schedule, as I recall. Maybe next year. I'm thinking seriously about hanging up my CD license. Steve

Knew there was a conflict with dates this year due the the spit in date with the PAC and the VGMC. I know Chris is going to miss going down to count cuts. By the way, do you know what is, or if Don McClave has an e-mail address? Is he does send it to me at [email protected]

I'll be there, although Friday arrival is now in question.

Yet another in a season full of outstanding contests, the British Columbia boys always have a highly entertaining competition.

Sounds as if nearly enough people to make a good contest will be there Friday for practice. Let Will Reeb fly *your* model, be famous and admired for at least one whole year! Anxiously await Bruce Perry's explanations as to how events at this contest in 2003 followed him all the way to Muncie in 2004! See if Ken Bird can actually get back into Canada, having moved to Tacoma, Washington! Will Heavy Stunt show up with one more airplane, one less wife than usual? Will Da Dirt fly an Impact or a 20FP-powered Skyray in Expert PA? Will the Cox family's deck finally collapse at the height of Saturday evening's party?

These and many more questions will be answered. Be there, it's a terrific contest.

P.S. I have room to take a spare PA airplane. Do I take one for Keith? Or Will? Or both?
