Forming New Club in Sonoma County

I’m trying to start a control line club in Sonoma County. At this point, we have a tentative support from the parks department to find a designative and approved location but we need to form a club for those who are interested in joining. Having a larger number of members helps when approaching the Parks and Recs.

If any of you are interested in joining, please send me your name, address and AMA number so I can put together a roster to form a club.

Now that you are on SSW, What prop are you using on your "Doctor"?

P.S. You should contact Mike Clancey, I believe he live somewhere in Marin county and would be a big supportor in acquiring a flying field in Sonoma county.

Thanks Heman. I will try to contact Mike.

In the way of the Doctor, I use an Eather 3 blade that's a 12x3-5/8 cut down to a diameter of 11-1/2".

I also use a plastic rc car gear to use as a friction lock to set the throttle on the ground.

I'll join your club if you will answer Heman's question publicly, on the forum. Please include any additional details you think are key to achieving such strong, smooth engine runs. You may recall I watched you and Ted trim the Doctor at the Woodland field back in April.

Good luck with that. My son and I are also starting a club. Like you we have an okay from a local park and a designated area to fly. We are still in the process of getting the memberships to AMA and PAMPA. Armed with this info we will attempt to assure the park people of our safty practices and that our club will have AMA memebers that are current. I think a preasentatation such as this will solidify our agreement. Good luck!!
