What type/brand tape is commonly used to seal hinge lines?

Scotch brand "Crystal Clear" Its been hard to find lately. I think I bought the last roll I had from Long Drugs.

You might also try the store brand tape from Dollar General. This is a very thin, flexible, clear packaging tape. Being from Dollar General, it costs about a dollar.

Try 3M blenderm. Drugstores carry this in the medical tape section. It is very flexible and turns almost clear.

Another good tape is Moore "Crystal Clear" tape available from art supply stores. A tad pricey but great for what we do with it.

I just picked up some Scotch *Patch and Repair tape-Heavy Duty*, #193 Friday. It is very flexible, clear, and sticks real well.

Hi Scott,
On two of the last three planes I have finished, I have used Nylon Taffeta to make full span hinges for both the elev., and flaps.
Works extremely well.
