Ebay key stroke virus

I know there are several people on the forum that are on ebay so this will be of interest to you. I received a warning email from ebay last week telling to be ware of a key stroke virus. You get it through email. Looks like I have the virus it took my son several hours to isolate it and delete it. Its a good thing he took computer class in school. It copies itself someplace in windows and reproduces as 4 other .exe files. If you delete 1 or all of the exe files it comes back again so you need to find the main file and delete it too. I don't think its a real virus other wise you would not be able to delete it. I also got the AWARD virus which is sorta like an exe program that copies itself to your hard drive and sends you advertisements. When you get online advertisements start popping up at a rate of one about ever 10 seconds. If you close one another one pops up in its place. I just watched and waited and after a few minutes I had 75 pop ups all one on top the other. Even after pulling the telephone line out of the wall the advertisements keep popping up so the advertisements exe program must be comming from my own computer. After going to control panel, add/remove programs, I found there was one file that windows could not remove. DOS it the trick on this one, go to DOS type the deletetree command and the file name and push enter.

It's called SpyWare and there are several anti-Spyware programs that can be downloaded off the net.

The field is looking pretty darn good, we have had the wettest summer in years and the grass came in great, have already mowed it 3 times. Put weed-n-feed on it last week to get rid of the Johnson grass that seems to be trying to take over the whole place. I let the front 4 acres go for 6 weeks and in a couple of spots the Johnson grass was 6 feet tall.

Is Johnson grass that grass that seems to grow about 5 times faster than all the other grass in the yard?

I noticed that every time a got online a message would come up on my computer screen telling me that I have the AWARD virus and that I need to download the spyware program to remove it. That made me wonder how in the world does my computer know that I have the award virus? When I click on the option to download the program it says the program costs $39.95 enter your credit card number now. This makes me wonder if maybe the people that sell the spyware remover program are the same people that created the spyware virus. I hope the rest of the businesses in the world don't catch on to this sale trick. The next thing you know the gas companies will be putting something in gasoline to gum up fuel injectors then advertising they have an additive you can buy at Auto Zone to clean out your gummed up fuel injectors. Other companies will be doing it too.

Johnson Grass is the really tall grass 4 to 6 feet you see growing along side most country roads in the lower Midwest. I am an amateur when it comes to lawns and plants just learning myself. I am pretty sure Johnson grass doesn't survive being cut short on a regular bases. If your lawn has been established for a while and cut regularly I don't think it is Johnson grass.

Spray it with MSMA. Cutting it will do nothing.

I am kind of a grass nerd.

The stuff I am looking at is labeled "529 MSMA Weed Killer" by Hi-Yield. It is available at about $15 a quart at the feed store or much cheaper at Tractor Supply.
Mixed according to instructions, it will kill sandburrs and crabgrass while not harming bermuda. I would think it would be effective on Johnson grass as well as the leaf shape is similar.
Actually, if the Johnson grass is not mixed in with bermuda or other desirable grass, just use Roundup-it kills everything thats growing without harming the soil. Even the weaker Roundup or similar products available to the general public at Wal Mart, etc. should do the job.

The spyware removal program Ad-Aware is free, download and use regularly.

Hi guys

Spybot and Adaware are both good but track slightly different stuff. You need both and you need to run them every few days.

For those who have Norton Internet Security 2004, it has spyware detection built in.
