Wheel Pants COBRA

I'm down to making the wheel pants on the COBRA. I need to see some photos of wheel pants to get an IDEA. This is the first time for me. ALSO best way to mount them?

I'll post some photo's of the Skeleton SO FAR so good

Did you set up your gear to be removable?

Here is one approach to do wheel pants. The gear does not need to be removable. This shows a split wheel pant construction so that wheels can be removed. Also, note that there are no exposed bolts and nuts to attach all of this other than the flat heads of small bolts.

This is just the way I did it I would be interested to see the best way??
Ply plate built into both sides of the pants. T nuts on the inside of the pant facing gear. Holes in the alum. gear match up with T nuts. Farside ply drilled to accept axle (not drilled thru) this supports pant on both sides. The triangular shaped ply plate on the inside was added to the existing ply that was built into the pant just to add thickness to accomodate the T nut. I have also supported the pants on just one side and it works well also......KEEP IT LIGHT......These pants are laminated with four 1/4 in. sheets glued together. The two inner sheets are cut out for lightness. Also be sure to seal or fuel proof the inside as it tends to fill with gunge. Gunge is the stuff that sticks, swarf is the stuff you can wipe off....Grins
