I believe that this is the gentleman who bought out a lot of AHC's inventory a few years ago when they filed for bankruptcy. He really does offer some rarely seen items at times.

He is selling what appears to be a first version (pollywog) Veco Chief. That is a very rare kit.

Yep, Curtis Mattikow (aka easytiger) has the old AHC warehouse contents. I look often at his listing, usually 150+ items, just to see what new and unusual things he might have. He's a good eBay seller, too.

Yeah, but, these days anyway, I am the ebay King of Vintage Stick and Tissue Kits, and RC kits, pre-WW 2. So there.

Curtiss is also good at smoking out estate sales, etc. It is not all AHC.

HI De. I have that kit and thankfully mine is in better condition. I am sorely tempted to go for the "Brave" though. Love the label, but the model is pure nostalgia for me. My best friend and I co built one. Boy was it heavy and smaller than my Barnstormer! But we didn't know it at the time.

Are you sure they went bankrupt? I was at AHC's new store a couple of years ago when they had just moved from 23rd. St. to 30th. St.
Wasn't much CL stuff there at the time. They may have sold off slow moving stuff from their former location.
Of course, they may have closed since then.

It depends if they went Chapter 7 or Chapter 11.

Chapter 7, they close and liquidate.

Chapter 11, they can reorganize, restructure their debt, continue to operate under the court's supervision, and maybe recover someday. I believe United Airlines and maybe U.S. Airways are currently operating under Chapter 11.

As an aside, he also was a real time, up close witness of 9/11. New Yorker all the way.

I probably will Proxy-fly one of his Scientific Hollow Logs at the Musciano Meet, the F-100. (A couple of years ago, I bought a tired, used one off of ebay. It had something like a 2 ounce car bumper washer for tip weight)!

I suppose you recall that I proxy flewed your ME 109 into the dirt a few years ago, eh? Someone reminded me that I had also won an event with it, but I still felt bad.

Hope to see a big turnout this year. Several of the Black Hawk Models kits have been deemed legal (six, I think) and I'll be happy to fly anyone's aeroplane that would let me. I seriously hope some consideration is made this year to fly on pavement. The idea of a guaranteed tumble on each and every landing in the grass is something that boggles my mind every time I think about it.

Hi, Clayton. Actually, you got a 2nd for me in Team Race, with my Zig Zag. The ME-109 lived to fight another day, and won Speed the next year, this time with a Fox (not a Babe Bee) up front. And with a different paint job, this time in a Ernst Udet trimmed out red, like the one he crashed in the Alps.

I like flying over grass, because it saves the planes. Tumbles are good. Currell
