On the horns of a dilemma……

Options in my feeble view:

Keep flying with the OS 10, which has been a great engine, but on what? A Ukey 15? Can it pull it?

Upgrade to the Brett Buck starter package (where I should have started all along probably, but I didn’t know about it at the time) i.e. Skyray and OS 20 or 25?

For not really anymore than the cost of a new OS 25 LA I can get an OS 40 LA. Should I go for that and the Ukey 40? Is this too much engine for the Ukey? Seems like this might be a good option, as I would have a large engine for future projects. Some wisdom also says that bigger planes/engines are easier to fly/start.

FYI, I have not done much but lurk since August, as I have been relocating to Nashville, TN from Michigan. Boy, am I gonna miss the winter, NOT! Any C/L flyers in the area?

Get going with the Brett Buck Starter Package! You'll enjoy it both the building and flying sides! An interum answer might be the Ukie 35, which is real happy with the OS 25 LA. Fly it while you are working on the Skyray.

Yeah, I just sorta slipped out of the state on you. Got an offer I could not refuse down south. I will miss the MI swap scene. We'll see what's happening down here. I'll keep working on the full size Streak, as I know it's one of your favorites. I'll ping you every now and then from south of the M/D line.

I think I'm about 2 hours south of you here in Chickamauga, GA. It's just south of Chattanooga, TN. Havn't lived here long enough to know if many flyers live up where you are. Quite certain there aren't many here! Atlanta is home to a reasonable contingent of flyers, and occassionally I go down there to fly on the weekends.

On a c/l carrier board, someone mentioned they were in the Nashville area, but never responded to my posts (like yours) as to whether or not anyone was in the area. I can go find his email address (if it was listed, can't remember) if you like.

Anyway, if you're ever in the mood to do some driving to fly, look me up, I have a grass circle in the back yard. The winds are very favorable to flying right here, almost nonexistent.

FYI, I'm scratch building a Flying Clown that might be alright for the OS 10. I'm putting a Fox 15 in it much to the chagrin (spelling?) of about everyone I've talked to! But, since I have two of them laying around, that's what it's getting. It's 27", 200 sqares. Nice thing about it is that it's legal for OTS, so if you do happen across a contest, you can fly it in any event you want.

Look forward to flying with you sometime, let me know what you find out about the flying scene up there.
