We donate a certain number of model kits every year to contest, there is no charge of any kind, we are glade to support the hobby.

1/2A event or beginner event included.
Perfer that the public be invited to watch the contest.
Finial decision will be up to Black Hawk Models

That is a very nice offer. I am thinking about setting up a "postal" type contest for the Scientific/Musciano hollow log models. Somewhat similar to what the Northern Virginia Club and the Westcoast club (I don't recall their name just offhand) do on an annual basis. Except, this contest would be done during a window of time, say 1 May 05 to 1 Aug 05. People would fly at their own fields and dates (within the prescribed window). Results would be reported via internet to SSWs and some small prizes would be distributed. Locations where they have several flyers, like the two clubs, could schedule a special day for flying within their club and then relaying the results to SSW. I have just gotten into these airplanes and am having such a good time, I am seriously thinking about promoting this event. I haven't worked out the details/rules, or gotten permission from Leonard yet, but I am just getting started. I have talked with Walt Musciano and he will be autographing some plan sets that will be given as prizes.

If this idea gets beyond the casual thinking phase, I will contact you and ask you for a very modest donation of a kit, perhaps. As I wrote this, an idea occurred. There could be a special prize given to someone who builds their airplane from one of the Blackhawk kits... Just an idea. If this has any appeal to you, please email me at:
