Change of venue, but the same deal as Flint.

We have teamed up with Strathmoor and Detroit Combat Team to return stunt to Rouge Park, where it all began.

We will be back on the same concrete circle as dominated by the Adamisins, McDonalds, Sawickis, Bachels, etc. When Classic Stunt was known as AMA Stunt.

Maybe, with luck, this will flush out a few of the original powers of the circle. I dug up a couple old deguarotype emulsion prints and scanned them in. The circle hasn't changed all that much, nor have the planes and pilots. Can you name them?

Directions:

For those of you who haven't been out to Rouge in a while, I regret to inform you that the Rouge River Bridge collapsed in 1967 and has not been replaced.

Therefore, you can only access the field off of JOY Road (aka 2 Mile). Hit Joy off of either US-24 (Telegraph Highway) or Michigan-39 (Southfield Freeway, where certain members of the Orbiteers did 125 in a '65 Wildcat).

Off of Joy Road, turn North onto Lahser. The landmark is still, as it has always been, the Detroit Police Cavalry Stable.

Note: The big RC club activity on the South side of Joy is NOT us. Ignore them, unless they hit your car with a chainsaw scale job.

I had wondered if the old Joy Road site was the venue. Kewel! I'll mark my calendar...

Progress is our most important problem

I'm planning to do a recon of the field this Thursday (May 18). I'll be armed with a lawn mower, self-launcher, a few toys, and my attack dash-hound.

Hopefully, I'll have some photo evidence.
