We will be having an event at Broome Park in Flint, MI on 4 Nov 06 to wrap up the year. Planned events are:

Skill level classes of PA
Classic
OTS (over grass)
Freestyle (details coming)

Events will start at 10:00 with practice whenever you arrive. Because this is Michigan and it will be November, be ready for everything. I will have 2 grass circles cut and the paved circle trimmed. Additionally there are acres of open area for practice.

Other events like combat and racing are possible if there is enough interest. Please let me know what you think. Maps and directions will be posted later.

Details for the Freestyle:

Each pilot that would like to try will be given 2 minutes from the point of launch to impress the judges with their flying ability. Anything that can be done safely goes-low inverted flight, touch and goes, 2 airplanes-one pilot, hovering,....I guess you get the picture.

The pilot will get to chose between the unforgiving hard surface or motor stuffing grass surface to fly from.

Judging will be done by the other pilots present. Total score if the same number of judges is used and average score if different judges are used.

Think fun.

Are there bonus points for choosing the hard surface for free style?

Alan,
There can be if the judges are impressed. Are you thinking inverted touch and goes?

John,
I've satisfied my quota of inverted touch and goes-not-much-further for the year (including one over asphalt at the Aurora contest). Sorry to say I will have to miss your November 4th outing. Sure did have fun though at your April outing. Hope you have fine weather and a good time flying .

Looks like I will be cutting my trip short to make it.
Hope to see all the guys we had up there last time.

Less than a week left, so I thought I would bump this one up. Nobody has commented on flying events other than stunt, so if you would like to do something, please speak up.

No blizzards in the forecast, so you may be able to leave the skis home. Speaking of skis, start thinking about the "Event for the Insane" to kick off the New Year.
