King Orange International, Jan. 2004

We have the dates set for the next King Orange International. It will be on January 17 & 18, 2004. The field will be available the afternoon of the 16th for practice. It will be held at the U. S. Navy Whitehouse Auxillary Landing Field just on the west side of Jacksonville, Florida (same as last KOI).

This is the 50th Anniversary edition of the KOI. The first one was held in 1954. Come out and help us make this a memorable event.

Saturday will be Basic, Classic, Old Time Stunt, Sport Stunt and Profile. Pilot's meeting at 9:30 AM. Competition starts at 10:00 AM.

Sunday will be Beginner, Intermediate, Advanced, Expert and the Fly-off for the KOI perpetual trophy. Pilot's meeting at 8:30 AM. Competition starts at 9:00 AM.

Flyers are going to be mailed out with a map and motel info.

Fees: $15.00 for the first event. $5.00 for each additional event.

There are three motels located near the intersection of I295 and I10, about 15 minutes from the contest site. The motel names and phone numbers are shown below.

We suggest that you go to one of the discount web sites such as motels.com or orbitz.com and negotiate a rate. You can normally save a good bit over the standard rate that way.
