I have set an artificial limit of 50000 bytes as the maximum size for the posting of pictures. This, using compression techniques and making sure that the picture is no larger than 800 x 600 in size is a very reasonable limit and was done to reduce the download time for people such as myself who are still stuck with dial up internet (only game in town). It also has delayed my having to up the ante (pay more money) for more bandwith and diskspace.
In other words, you will need to either resize your picture (you didn't say what size it was) or compress it a bit more and then it will go.
