Try to post picture?

Here it goes I usually get a message File upload error.Please contact admin.Remote uploading denied.Same thing again.Does anyone know what I am doing wrong.I can post a picture anywhere but on SSW ?The size is only 27KB.I select it from browse and it is JPEG ,then I go to the upload button and I get the above message.Thanks for any help.Dennis

Do you have a firewall on your computer or a pop up eliminator?

When you try to upload a pop-up screen will come up. I am assuming that is what is happening. If your picture is in JPEG format and the default JPEG is chosen, all should be well there. You say it is 27K, then all should be well there. You find it on your computer (hard drive, floppy, or wherever you have it stored. Once you have selected it, then you should be able to click on "Select file" and wait for it to upload. There should be nothing at this end that would deny the upload, so if you have followed it that far, then I would suspect a firewall at your end. If not, send me an e-mail and we will sort it out.

Dennis, there is a setting on your firewall to allow clstunt.com. Do this and you won't have to turn your firewall off. You should be able to set it to accept any site that you feel safe about, although you may have to do each one individually.

I have a picture of a biplane I built in 1960. Can you tell me where I can get step by step instructions to post this on this forum? I`m new to computers. I can scan the picture into memory from my HP printer, but where and what do I do next?

Posting pictures is FAQ number 15 as you scan down.

Basically you need to size your pictures so they are no larger than the average or "normal" screen suze of the computer that the viewer will be using. Generally that means keep it 800x600 pixels or smaller. You don't want people to have to scan from side to side to view it. Large pictures also throw off the text.

You also need to compress the picture so that it is below 50K in size. Some cameras will take the picture in JPEG format. If so, take it in lower resolution. This will keep the physical size down. If you scan the picture, scan at about 70 dots per inch. That will get most pictures in size. If you have a camera that takes the picture in bitmap format, you will need to convert the picture to JPEG. Then use a compression utility if it is not small enough. Most cameras and scanners come with suitable software. Many newer computers come with it. You can down load some utilities. You can buy some utilities on the "bargain bins" for five to ten dollars. I just got a spam e-mail offering four such utilities for the "bargain" price of $9.95. When I clicked off of it, up popped an offer to give me an "instant rebate" making the price now $5.00 for all four utilities. I still didn't buy as I have a general rule not to buy anything sent to me by spam (Don't encourage them and maybe they will die a peaceful death.) If you still have problems, send me an e-mail.

Oh, and when you write up your post, right below the text box where you right your message is a url saying "Click here to choose your file". This is what you must click on to upload the picture to the forum. A pop-up window will appear when you do this. If you have a pop-up blocker on your computer you may need to disable this to upload pictures. (Yes, the pop-up feature was meant to serve a good purpose. Unfortunately too many use the feature to throw ads in yoru face for things that I am not going to purchase.)

One more thing (edit) you will need to register and log into the forum in order to post pictures. Registration is free, but it keeps people from doing things they shouldn't anonymously.
