Well, my 19 year old grandaughter soloed Saturday, but due to my interference, she made a bad landing. In the process the crankshaft of the Fox .19 was bent. Anyone have a spare they can sell me? This is the older style .19 that looks like a small version of the classic .35 stunt engine.

Never stunt on an overlean engine!!

Ty - Be careful with a 3 bolt backplate Fox .19... the crankshaft comes in 2 versions, the first having a pressed in crankpin. After enough failures, Duke upgraded to a one piece shaft, which works fine. You can tell a press fit by looking at the front of the crankpin for the bore. Don't use these, keep looking for a one piece shaft. Or find a buddy with a lathe and have him true the bent shaft. Tom H.

Thanks Tom. I do have a local friend that owns a machine shop and does work for NASA. Also a club member owns a machine shop. Hmmm, how come I didn't think about them?

There are actually quite a few of the old .19 and .25 motors around, I've sold several myself on eBay in the last 6 months. They're beautiful running motors; I especially love the .25. Good luck keeping it going...

Why don't you disassemble the engine, remove the crank, and have one of your machinist friends straighten it for you?

I have it in parts, now to go to Jims and have him put in his lathe. BUT, if it won't straighten without breaking, and I have had this happen, I will still need a new crankshaft. Jennifer is ready to fly again. Can't keep a new flyer waiting!

Hi Ty:
You asked for a good, usable crankshakt for an old style Fox .19 ( this is the engine with he 3 bolt back plate & looks like the Fox .35 only with a longer venturi.)
I have a good used one for you. Price is $10 plus $2.50 postage. Ins exta & $1.10 if desired. Uninsured sent at buyer's risk.

Ty, There are THREE different versions of that Crank shaft. If the one offered doesn't work, let me know. I have all three as well as 14 of those engines (three different versions.
