Wanted "UKEY"

Wondering if anyone has a new UKEY for sale or how to get one, I understand it is an in expensive stunt trainer and almost ready to fly.

Joe Just is the current producer of the Ukey series, although he has announced elsewhere on this and other forums that he has stopped production. He has found someone to take over the line, but, in the meantime, he still had some UKEY .35's in stock at last report. If he doesn't, he can put you in touch with the new manufacturer.

I just ordered a U-Key 35 and a U-Key 40 from Joe Just less than a week ago. Took 3 days to get to me. E-mail him to see what he has left in stock.

Thinking about using a Magnum xL 25 on it... any thoughts??

Any of the FP clone 20 or 25s will fly the socks off a Ukey. I have an FP20S with stock venturi and ST needle valve on ours. Needs to be slowed down a bit, but lots of power. You don't really need a ball bearing motor. Love our Ukeys!

Still in the same condition as when it hit behind me on Sunday at the field. First time I'd ever used that handle on this ship. I've learned to build my RMs with v-e-r-y slow controls. Using a handle with a 6" spacing, it's about right. Hooked up the handle I used for my U-Keys and Twister with a 4" spacing. WAY too slow. My first insides were vertical at the top. When I finished my 3rd, it was actually behind me slightly and I attempted an inverted recovery. Next thing I knew was this "thump" behind me and sudden silence.

Rule #1 - What you take to fly at a contest, test it first!

Damage was to the outboard sheeting (this is the sheeted S-1A kit) and possible cracked bottom spar. Easy fix but I'll have to yank off the covering (3rd recover job on this 14 year old Ringmaster). I may remove ALL the covering and give a good going over with the sandpaper.

The 2½" plastic spinner took most of the impact but I did break the muffler, prop and accordianed the tank.

I ordered a new batch of OS 25 NVAs and some venturis for the FP 20/25 plus small and large 40 FP sizes. They've arrived so I can fly the Twister again.

Still have my Prowler waiting for hinging and painting. It'll be a very utilitarian paint job but am looking forward to getting that done this fall.

Haven't yet built the UKey 35 but will likely try the Fox 35 on it. If I were smart I'd use one of Windy's universal mounts and fly it with whatever was handy.
