AJ Walker FIREBABY for sale!

I have an old Firebaby that has been sitting around for many years. It is kind of beat up. The pushrod between bellcrank and elevator horn is missing--it is only music wire and can be easily replaced. The balsa wing has been repaired as has the elevator.

Anyone interested in it? I am not sure what it would be worth, but maybe someone would like it... If there is interest I will give more info.

Put it on eBay and buy a new house when you sell it ... No kidding, it's incredible what those things go for. A Firebaby given to me as a birthday gift got me started in this obsession, but no way would I pay the going prices!

Is the body plastic or wood???

The body is red plastic. It also has the canopy with it and the original cox engine that ran... Well, it did 25 years ago or so...

Too bad it doesn't have the original wood fuselage. Those go for very high prices. I now have three of them, and will never be able to sell them for what I have invested in them in getting all the parts. One is still in the box. I repaired one wing with carbon mat and will fly it this spring. I have made two repro FireBabys too.
This is the beast that got me into control line flying. Thak you Jim Walker, where ever you may be.

I agree with you Ty. My early Firebabys were of the wood fuselage variety. It was one of my first successful airplanes.

My start into modeling occurred when a distant aunt gave me an O&R 23, glow version, for an 8th birthday present. I didn't know what to do with it. My Dad built some kind of a solid-wood wing trainer and we (that is my Dad) worked with that, but never got it to fly... After about a year and a half of it sitting around, I wound up getting a Firebaby and FLEW it. Then I talked my Dad into a For 35 and a Ringmaster. It was all great; though my Dad was never involved with the models after his lack of success with the O&R and the trainer.

I should try the ebay to sell it I guess.

I have one with the black plastic body. I flew it insde CornelUn. many years ago with a .02 and ten foot lines.
