Here are some photos of the new 5oz Syringe. I have removed the black rubber plunger that disintigrates in glow fuel and can cause problems in your fuel system. I can supply the whole syringe with new CNC machined UHMW plunger end that uses a silicone o ring for glow fuel or a Buna N o ring for gas or diesel. And I also sell just the new end for your old syringe. I also supply a new set of numbers for your old syringe. The price for the whole syringe is $18.00 plus shipping and the new end for $9.00 plus shipping. Hi Carl
just a silly ?? here

how much less fuel does the syringe hold after the new insert is in place
reason I ask is the last model I used I would fill the syringe to the top and I knew I would get a full tank, prime and 7 1/2 minute run

These syringes are excellent. If you have ever had the rubber parts go bad on a fuel syringe, it need not ever happen again. I purchased two of these new syringes and am quite impressed with them. They are definitely recommended. You will not be disappointed............T.Durrill

Carl, I got my syringe, it looks excellent! Can't wait to use it.

You included a thin strip of paper which has a graduated ounce scale, same as on the syringe. What's this for?

The extra numbers are for an old syringe that has no numbers you can just tape it in place. Here is a photo.

I have the new one. Yay!

The silicone fuel tubing seems to want to pop off of the nipple on the syringe, any suggestions? I tried a couple of different sizes.

Flyin Andy,

I use black neoprene fuel line with plastic syringes. It holds on to the syringe just fine. The black neoprene is not easy to find, but I am sure someone out there is still selling it..........TD

go to a good auto supply store and get some window washer tubing. Works fine if you can find the right rubber.

One tip, that most people have figured out - if you leave both o-rings on, the syringe is very stiff. This is because it seals up well enough that the upper o-ring gets no lubrication. Just take the top one out, problem solved. Save it for when the other one wears out (if ever).

Bumping this up again, and also asking... I do hope these will continue to be available. I'll be ordering one before long. Used my old one to help the young one out on a science project (hydraulics), and when filled with water, noticed the black rubber making a big mess inside. Sure wouldn't want that in my engine - time for a new one. Do I need to worry about availability? Thanks,

(edit:) I should clarify... "my old one" is not a Carl Shoup syringe... just a regular old one with a black rubber tip on the plunger...

Isn't the buna rubber o-ring good for both diesel fuel and glow fuel? (I know it is) Is there a reason to use the silicon o-ring that I'm not seeing?
