Wanted: Screws for McCoy Red Head Engines

I've also been trying to find a source for screws used in the McCoy Red Head series engines. The originals are 4-40 thread, black finish steel, fillister head, with phillips drive. The lengths are also oddball: 7/32", 25/32" (19 and 35) and 15/16" (35). These sizes cover the crank case back cover (same for both engines) and head bolts for the 19 and 35. You'd think these would be easy to find, but McMaster Carr and Fastenal don't have anything. I also need McCoy prop nuts (1/4-28 thread, black finish steel, 0.210" thick) and prop washers (0.254" ID, 0.755" OD, 0.075" thick black steel). Again, no go from my standard sources.

In a pinch, I suppose round head type screws with phillips drive would be OK.

If anyone has any for sale or can point me toward an industrial supplier so I can just buy some boxes of 100, please email me.

Try McMaster/Carr, that where I get my stuff. Problem will be the black oxide finish.

There has been a seller on ebay that has been selling McCoy bolt sets. Both the Red Head and earlier series. He says he had them made, exact replacements.
I guess you are going for collection use. (??) I just replace mine when I go through them with allen head bolts since I don't really collect them, just use them.

If you use a #4-40 bottoming tap you can deepen all of the tapped holes enough to accept standard length screws.
Just another tip I've learned over the years. I do that to all of the reworked McCoy .40s I sell.

I also have socket head cap screws (allen head screws) cut to any length that I use for my McCoys.
