Looking for one of these. Must be in good shape with no broken fins please. Any out there?

Bill, I guess you never got the email I sent you about this request. I have a complete engine with good compression. Its a single ring, no venturi or carb but otherwiuse all there. The piston shows heat but so did the best .46 I ever had when I got it. The case looks very good cosmetically but the mounting holes have been opened. In fact there are 4 in the exhaust side bracket. I see no reason why however that this engine can not be securely mounted as is. I have seen a lot worse. The head is very good, no damage. If you are interested contact me at jjramjett@msn.,com and maybe we can work out a trade or a price. Jon Ramsden (jjramjett)

JJRAMJETT, sent you a email to the address you posted, I hope you get this one. If not send one to me at [email protected] and I will use the reply method. I have tried both methods of email from the forum and it doesn't appear that you are getting them.

Bill, you've got me beat on this one. I am unaware of any twin plug ST60. Any more details?

Fits the ST 60 most all of us like. Just has 2 plugs instead of one. I know of no advantage to this, I just want one for my collection of ST 60's.

Hi Bill
Have look at the heads on your Merco 60's, if you take one of the twin plug heads off, will it fit the S/T 60. If so and if it's what you want to achieve I have a brand new Merco twin plug head?
Cheers John Goodwin

John, thanks for your offer. I don't believe it will fit and I just sold 5 of those Merco 61's on here last week. Thinning down the collection just a little......

Just for my interest and edification and education - can anyone give chapter and verse on this?

Was a twin plug light case (or heavy case come to that) ST60 ever put out by the factory?

Was a twin plug head ever offered for ST60 by one of the specialists?

I don't think the Merco twin plug head will fit. Merco bore 0.940". ST60 bore 24mm = 0.94488".

Ian, yes they made one. I have an engine with the factory double plug head. Its a single ring V case identical; to all the V light cases, no muffler lugs. I have never run it but probably as in most other twin plug engines there is little or no difference in running characteristics. Valuable to collectors only I should think.

I have one, and I HAVE run it, a lot. And you CAN hear the RPM pickup when you light the second plug. Ran mine in an Intrepid XL. I think it gives a little more even combustion and little extra confidense against flame out, or contest "gotta fly or loose" worries. Probably not much else to it. I always dug the cool factor.
