**NEW** Saturn kits from UHP

Ultra Hobby Products announces our newest laser cut kit: the Saturn.
Designed by Bob Hunt, the Saturn can be flown at the top levels of Precision Aerobatics competition.

The Saturn comes with laser cut: wing ribs, bellcrank mounts, flaps, stab, elevators, rudder, fuselage sides, fuse formers, ply fuse doublers, wheel pants, and nose ring. All laser cutting is done by Kyle at Tank's Hangar with hand selected balsa form Lone Star Balsa. All sheeting and blocks are also supplied from Lone Star.

The kit also includes a complete hardware package from Tom Morris with:
preassembled carbon fiber pushrods, ball-links, flap horn, elevator horn, bellcrank with leadout wires, tip weight box, and adjustable leadout guide. Plans and building instructions are also included.

Sounds great!
I was with Bob when his lead out broke on his Saturn at the NATS. I rapidly built a Saturn myself upon returning home. I have been flying it for 8 years now! (of course 5 of those years Aaron and I were not active) My first contest with it was at Flushing Meadows, and I was lucky enough to get third in Advanced.
So I can assure everyone that the Saturn is a world class competition stunter! (Bob made the '96 team with his)

And I am sure this kit is up to y'all's excellent standards.

By the way, how does it compare to the UHP "Bear" in size?

What is the wing area and all up weight anticipated? What engine
will pull it? Say, would a Jett .50 be too small? Does it actually require a Saito .72 (of which I have none.)

I think Chris Cox up here in the great white north, flew his Saturn on a piped .40VF, if that's any help.

chris has flown his saturns on 40 VF : Saito 56 and Aero 40. Less than a week ago he went back to 40 VF. I have flown mine on Stalker 61 and Magnum 36. Bob Hunts plans say 660 Sq. " All the four planes we have built have finished up about 56 or 57 Oz.Hard to fault the design, it flies so well. Keith Varley. One of Chris' planes has take apart with two separate fuses

The Saturn is very similar in size to the Bear. The Saturn is 650 sq. in. and is reccomended to use a .40(pipe) - .61 size engine. A Saito 72 would be overkill in this plane. It'll fit; we did it with DOug's, but isn't really necessary. Bob Hunt flew his with an OPS 40 with pipe.

I used a 40 VF in mine until last year when i switched to a PA 51. Great performance, but I will be returning to the VF and using my 51 in a larger plane. The VF is more than adequate, especially with an all up weight of 54 oz now due to repairs...
