I will be cutting a Veco Chief for a customer in the next couple of weeks. I can make 3 at a time and will be happy to take your order at this time for the other two kits. They will cost $125.00 plus shipping of $12.00 priority mail.

These kits will take a couple of weeks to cut as I am on vacation near the end of the month.

Does this kit have the "pollywog" airfoil? I believe the original kit had this to make it easier to build. Thanks, John Lindberg from Va.

No it was done by the factory so they could cut more ribs out of a sheet according to Bob Palmer. The pollywog airfoil was not the original airfoil designed and submitted by Bob for the kit.

HI Greg. According to Bob at VSC, the pollywog airfoil was so Henry could use existing stocks of TE material, 3/32 X 1/2. He didn't want to buy tapered TE stock. I have a 1949 Veco Chief kit and the ribs are diecut in such a way that more ribs could be cut in between them, so NO balsa was saved by using the polywog die cutting. End of that rumor.

I cut the Joe Wagner designed wing. He use to work for Veco at that time and has done most of the drawings for the plans. (NO POLLYWOG) Larry:)

Richard;
If you are still taking orders for the chief I would like to put my name in the pot.BTW the Hurricane kit arrived, the wood looks great.

I did not realize that when you said it was the Veco kit that it would be cut with all the small pieces that the original kit came with
although its good small pieces.

Marshall, Thanks. I will hold one Chief kit for you. The Cost is $125.00 + $12.00 priority mail. I'll let you know when I start the cut. I have room for one more sell on the Chief. Two down and one to go. Any takers????

I put a check in the mail yesterday afternoon,since you are not fabbing the kit yet there should be plenty of time for it to clear.

Busby, I never cash the check until the kit goes in the mail. Just a simple rule I have to keep things up to date. I'm going on vacation for a week and will start after I get back. I just completed 2 Skyraiders and shop is clean now.
