All this talk about the Scientific hollow-log airplanes has really sprred my interest in them and I am seeking to buy an old Fox 049. If anyone has one, please contact me offline at [email protected]
I promise I am looking for this engine to use and not to resell on ebay. I also promise to take very good care of it. Thank you for any help with my quest.

Treat each day as if it were your last, because one day, it will be.

Thanks for the info. I am now the "high bidder", though the reserve has not been met.

Randall Hopkins at H&R Engines, bought out the entire Fox stock and sells NEW engines assembled from Fox parts. Randall is a good guy, try him. A new 049 is $50, so don't go nuts on the Ebay engine!!

I am taking everyone's advice and getting a Fox 049 from both Hobbysports (Henry is very helpful) and also from Randall, directly. In fact, he is providing exactly what I wanted from his remaining parts for the fox 049s. He originally bought 800 pounds of fox parts; has sold 600 to date, and is still selling them. Also, he is very good to work with.

Leonard, as far as I am concerned, I am a happy camper and through with this thread. Thank you for providing the service.

My quest for a Fox 049 has ended. I now own 3!
I got the one on ebay= $22.51, and I purchased one from Virginia Hobbysports, and one from H&R -- Randall--the guy that is selling off the last of fox 049 engines/parts. He still has some and Virginia Hobbysports does also.

I'm happpy. Now to build some hollow-log models for them...
