5x40 Screws

Anyone have a couple of 5x40 screws they could part with. Need them as studs for taking Cox cranks out. None at the local hardware shop and don't need 100. Be glad to pay.

Why don't you just use an old prop bolt, a piece of music wire or a drift punch?

I did on on one and had to refile the screw. As for a drift - that would work but I don't have one small enough and I have some engines that are missing the prop screw. This seemed to be the easy way but thanks for the ideas.

Slot cars used 5-40 as the standard axle thread - check the hobby shop slot car section.

look in in ur local yellow pages under "fastners"... or an "industrial supply" for machine shops would have them...jim
