This is an excellent engine! None of the 6 mounting holes are oversize, and it has no broken fins. The bearings are smooth with no slop, the timer is excellent and it has a Champion spark plug installed. It has a blue denver head (high compression) amd a brass tank. Everything is correct on this engine.
The only flaws I see are some slightly dented fins(very slight) and a little of the blue anodize has been rubbed off the head on the bypass side of the engine.
The Anderson Spitfire is basically a Super Cyclone with all the weak spots engineered out of it. It came into production in 1947, right at the end of the spark era. It's too bad, because this was a great ignition engine.
