HARD POINT SLIDER

Here they are. In response to a request I have decided to make 2 aditional styles of handles. The first, in addition to the cable slider(Bob Baron style), is the hard point that requires you to unscrew the thumb screw to adjust your spacing, $20.00 post paid. The second and most usefull is the "HARD POINT SLIDER". This was the first style I used in 1975 but never had sold it. It has 8/32 thumb screw in a steel slider, with an 8/32 allen head bold locking it in place. They all come with extra long stand off mounting bolts, for more overhang adjustment. Once you find the best overhang you just cut off the 10/32 bolts outside the bar. This will take a little weight off as well. These are lighter than the cable sliders. With many thanks to Mr. Byron, I now have one of the adjustable hard-point handles--the $20.00 unit--shown above.

Excellent workmanship and the handle is very nearly ready to use right out of the box. Even the safety thong is included, both ends are made up with strong terminations. If you can convince the mail service to deliver a handle to you while out flying, you can (almost, see below) instantly be in the air.

As Dick suggests, I ran the bar back to a position known to work for me and simply whacked off the excess 10-32 rod.

As mentioned several times in the main conference, I much prefer hard-point handles over cabled units, and have built up a stash of home-made line clips bent from .047 piano wire. So I will be using them in conjunction with Byron handle while also recognizing that others might prefer pushing top or bottom of vertical bar in or out in order to make adjustments.

I have one of Dick Byron's hard point handles too. I positioned the bar at an angle as to give myself an artificial down bias. And if hardpoint handle with adjustable overhang AND bias wasn't enough, here comes infinitely adjustable spacing!!!!
