My buddy Dick was feelin' bad about crashin' the Tanager last week. He was
concerned that he might be to old and slow for this hobby, he just couldn't
think and react fast enough. I knew I had to cheer him up and bolster his
saggin'self image. So I told him he had to drink more booze. He couldn't
understand how that could help, so I thought I'd share the Buffalo Theory
with him.
"Well ya see, Dick, it's like this... A herd of buffalo can only move as
fast as the slowest buffalo. When the herd is hunted, it's the slowest and
weakest ones at the back that are killed first. This natural selection is
good for the herd as a whole, 'cause the general speed and health of the
whole group keeps improving by the regular
killing of the weakest members.
Long story short, just like the Buffalo herd, the human brain can only
operate as fast as the slowest brain cells. Excessive intake of alcohol, as
y'all know, kills brain cells. But naturally, it attacks the slowest and
weakest brain cells first. In this way, regular consumption of booze
eliminates the weaker brain cells, making the brain a faster and more
efficient machine. That's why you always feel smarter after a few drinks."
Dick was getting pretty fowl 'till I 'splained this to him,,,,,But he isn't
gettin any FOWLER now..
