An officer in the US naval reserve was attending a conference that included admirals from the US navy and the French Navy.
At a cocktail reception he found himself in a group that included Admirals from both Navies.
A French Admiral Started complaining theat whereas Europeans learned more then one language the Americans only learned English.
He asked... " Why is it that we have to peak English in htese confrerences rather then you speak French?"
Without hesitation an American admiral said...
"Maybe it is because the Brits, the Canadians, the Kiwis, Aussies and Americans arranged it so you wouldnt have to speak German "
