What an Office Christmas Party is like in 2004

shows up at the pearly gates, and meets St. Peter. He is asked to accompany Peter, and is shown into a beautiful, spacious room where he is introduced to a number of men -- Senator Harry F. Byrd, George Washington, John Tyler, Woodrow Wilson, Zachary Taylor, ClarK, Arthur Gopdfrey, James Monroe, Patrick Henry, James Madison, and Thomas Jefferson. Confused, he asks:"Is this heaven?" St Peter smiles, and says "yes, and you were promised that you would spend eternity with eleven Virginians!"

Arthur Gopdfrey,Mispelled or not, I haven't heard that man's name in at least 20 years. Hard to believe that he was once one of the most formidable presonalities on radio and tv from the 40's to the 60's

And a pilot to boot. Got in trouble for buzzing a tower (OKC??) one time. A dim memory has him photographed in the cockpit of a Beech D-18.

I think he was a navy pilot during WWII, and he used to talk about his Navion a lot. I think my keyboard has a spleech impediment.

Yep, he was a Naval Aviator and had presented trophies during a few of the old Navy Nats. Fly Navy.
