Once upon a time in the office

I was in an engineering group in my company. Since we worked on production related equipment, we were invisible as far as management was concerned. We routinely got moved all over the company anytime
someone in the "real" engineering section required our space. One day, the management decided to retrofit an old shack that was used for storage. This entailed adding air conditioning, rest rooms and a
break room. We moved in and got back to work. One day our CEO and his staff came through to tour the building. The CEO asked what all these guys were doing, and his Number One said,"All these electrical and mechanical engineers are designing and building Test Equipment for the factory". When the CEO thought about what it cost to refurbish the building, he said,"We should have fenced off half this building to raise chickens and maybe, just maybe, we could make some profit out of this." Number One was aghast at this and said,"But, sir, think of the noise, the stink, and the unsanitary conditions that would cause." The CEO said, "Not to worry, chickens can get used to anything."
