A modeler on vacation in Maine stopped by a craft shop and found that the shop had previously been a Hobby Shop. He found stacks of Ringmasters, Green Box Noblers, McCoys, Foxes, K & Bs, and all the things we dream of.
The modeler started piling items on the counter, and the owner noted sourly, "Don't take credit cards."
As the pile built, the owner added, "Don't take checks."
When the modeler had cleared the inventory, the owner tallied up and pointed to the total of $937.42.
The modeler reaches in his pocket and counts out $937.42. He asks the owner if he has paid enough money. The owner counts and recounts, and announces,
"Just barely."
