SEARS Hardware Stores

They opened one of these near me about a year ago..... I thought it would be a glorified paint or appliance center.

Then I got to looking around...there was a whole wall of the widgets that Norm Abrams and Bob Villa always seem to come up with....drawer slides and latches. That assortment also has bushings that we might want to use, as well as all manner of little springs and stuff.

There is also a very complete fastener center, so that you can try the items that Noel Drindak suggests.....stuff like stainless screws and allen bolts, even stainless set screws!

Most that prowl here have some sort of tool fetish....go and check one of these places out!

BTW, I have found the folks there anzious to please! They will reorder and call if they are out of something.

Right, and a red head is why I joined the Navy in the first place. Haven't trusted them since. Tools are much more important than fetishes. They are a passion. Just walking through the hardware section of Sears, well, Tim the Tool Man Taylor said it best, he said it made his nipples hard. His words.

I recommend staying away from stainless steel setscrews. They crack and get stuck. Go wit da redhead. McCoy. Steve
