Ukey 35 Recieved

Just recieved an Ukey 35 from Jim Pearson, [email protected]. It looks great with the new red wing. Can't wait to get the OS .25 on it and get it in the air. Thank you Jim

That sounds like a good on to take North for your Grandson!

The ukey is a wonderful stunt trainer. It is cheap, flies well, and is easy to repair.

Unfortunately, it is ugly as home made sin!

Mostly just curious, but how much does the U-Key35 weigh, complete. I've been considering ordering them, but have been waiting for this info.

And how it fly with an LA25? Or is it an LA?

Can't tell you about the Ukey 35, but my Ukey 40 weighs 34.5 oz, ready to fly. That's with two-wheel landing gear, a ThunderTiger .25 engine with stock muffler, extra structural reinforcement in the nose, and a fair amount of extra glue in the wings from repairs. It flies great, with just under 5 second laps on 60 ft lines.

I flew my Ukie 40 with 2 wheel gear with an os fp 25.

It actually flies better with four oz of weight added at the CG. Much less bouncy in the wind.

I finally got the U Key 35 together. Probably 2 hours construction time with a little help From Scott Riese. Engine is an OS 40 LA with a 11/4 prop. Venturi and NVA reworked by Scott.
It is exactly the plane I needed to get some handle time and practice. I am having a lot of fun with it and a big thanks to Joe (Ukeyman) and to Jim Pearson ([email protected]) who is now building them.
I also have a Flite Streak ARF, for me the U Key is the best model to get back into control line with. However, the Flite Streak will have its day at the park soon.
